Hemlocks at the Preserve: Ecology & management in the face of Hemlock wooly adelgid
Eastern hemlock trees (Tsuga canadensis) are as beautiful as they are ecologically important. An exotic insect – Hemlock Wooly Adelgid – is poised to dramatically impact Maine’s hemlock populations. Learn about hemlock ecology and discuss the Preserve's plans to manage the adelgid.

Meadows of Little Long Pond
Explore the 20-acre meadows at Little Long Pond with Director of Natural Lands, Tate Bushell. Learn about the meadows as a biological community, as well as the Preserve's restoration efforts and management plans for the meadows.
We will walk on both the carriage road and in the meadow.. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Walking distance 2.5 miles
