If you have driven along Peabody Drive in Seal Harbor lately, you may have noticed signs of change. Behind the fencing and construction equipment, something exciting is taking shape. Greenrock, long the quiet engine behind the Rockefeller family’s daily operations before it was transferred to the Land & Garden Preserve, is well on its way to becoming a new home for our administrative offices, facilities team, and natural lands team.Â

We are happy to share that construction is on schedule, and we expect to move into the new Greenrock early next year.Â
What began last summer as a vision—to transform and expand a group of aging, historic buildings into an energy-efficient and collaborative workspace—is quickly becoming a reality. From the outside, passersby will see new forms rising that thoughtfully echo the site’s legacy. Inside, we are building bright, functional spaces where staff will effectively work together in support of our mission.Â

This project is a milestone for the Preserve. The buildings will improve working conditions and operational efficiency, and will support our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Solar panels are designed to result in net-zero energy consumption, and the buildings are designed for maximal thermal efficiency.Â
We are grateful for the community’s curiosity and patience as construction continues, and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months. For now, take a look at the photos below to see the progress.Â
