Kari Heistad: Prolific volunteer photographer

Two years ago, the Preserve put out a call for photographs of our lands and gardens. Kari Heisted answered that call with some stunning photos. Since that time, Kari has taken thousands more photos at the Preserve during her annual summer and autumn visits to MDI. Much of her photography captures beautiful, detailed images of flowers, pollinators, and birds found in the gardens and lands. Many of her photos have been featured in our digital and printed materials. We are so grateful for her talent, enthusiasm, and love of the Preserve.

When she is not behind a camera lens, Kari works in the areas of diversity and cross-cultural awareness with Culture Coach International, a consulting firm she founded in 1998.

Volunteers play important roles at the Preserve, and we appreciate all of them. Look for more profiles of our volunteers in upcoming newsletters.

If you would like to donate your photographs of the Preserve, please email us at photos@gardenpreserve.org.
