Thuya Lodge partially re-opens this season

The complete Thuya Garden experience extends beyond the border garden. For many, a visit to the garden begins at the harborside, at the Thuya dock and landing, to enjoy its small garden of native plants and seating overlooking the harbor. The Asticou Terraces trail, which begins just across Route 3 from the path to the dock, leads visitors up the forested hillside. At the top of the hill, next to the garden is Thuya Lodge, the former summer home of Joseph Curtis and a favorite destination for many of our visitors.

Last season, the Preserve kept Thuya Lodge closed for the safety of our staff and visitors. We are pleased to report that the Lodge will be partially open this season with our docents onsite when the garden is open to offer stories and details of the home and its furnishings.

To see the entire Lodge, take a video tour with docent Ellen Gilmore.
